Mix it up Monday!

Hello Friends! It's Mix it up Monday! In this series I'll be using products from various companies to hopefully come up with a cohesive card design. Today's card features products from four different companies. I am absolutely in love with this butterfly from Pink Fresh Studio and I knew right away that I wanted to use it for my Mix it up Monday series!

Isn't that butterfly beautiful! And, the the best part? No coloring, it's all ink blending with stencils...Brilliant! I used a rainbow of inks to stencil the butterfly and I pulled out my Glimmer Hot Foil machine again! So, you know I've struggled with hot foiling, right? Well, I recently watched a great video from Yana Smakula where she talked about the best card stock to use for hot foiling. Immediately a light bulb went off, it's my card stock! I've been using Neenah 80# card stock because that's what I have on hand but during the video she spoke about heavier weight and smoother card stock to get the best results. Enter Brutus Monroe and their Not Your Mama's Card Stock. It's 130# super smooth and it WORKS!!! I had just a touch of over-foiling but this is by far the best results I've gotten with my hot foil machine. I will definitely be using it more often!
