Hello Friends! Have you seen the new release at Gina K Designs? Oh my goodness, it's a good one! I am so honored to be guest designing this month. There are new stamp/die combos as well as a new Master Layouts! This one has a scalloped rectangle, hearts, buttons, and banners. It's chock full of goodness!

I've created three cards so far but trust me, there will be more to come!

I used a different technique for each of these cards. For the first one, I thought it would be nice to have a nice shiny gold background so I pulled out my Spellbinders Glimmer Foil machine and used that beautiful die of cascading hearts for the background. I also used the scalloped rectangle and nested  heart from Master Layouts 4. I added that sweet sentiment from the I Admire You stamp set and that card was done.

For the second card, I added a fun shaker element to the heart die. Of course I think the ink blended rainbow really made the difference to add some color and jazz up the card a bit.

Lastly, I did an ink "smooshing" technique with my Karin markers for that fun background. I heat embossed one of the beautiful floral images from I Admire You and added that awesome Never Lose Hope sentiment. I love how it turned out!

I hope you enjoyed these cards and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello Friends! Happy Mix it up Monday! I hope your weekend was amazing! Mine was low key and quiet, just the way I like it. We enjoyed the football games yesterday and are excited for the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks!

Today, I have some cards to share that I made for my brother-in-law. He's a realtor in Miami and he loves giving handmade cards to his clients. He's won Realtor of the Year two years in a row and he tells me it's because of my cards! LOL! He asked me to make 50 thank you cards, so I went right to work! Since I was making so many, I thought less would be more and stuck with a simple yet elegant design.

I used three different patterned paper pads, two stamp sets, two die sets and one embossing folder for this set of cards. All products are linked below.

Simple Stories - Domestic Bliss patterned paper
Echo Park - Coffee and Friends patterned paper
American Crafts - Warm & Cozy patterned paper
Taylored Expressions - Garden Party embossing folder
Concord & 9th - Floral Print Silhouette dies
Hero Arts - Infinity Circle Dies
Simon Says Stamp - So Loved - no longer available - SORRY!

For these cards I used a great time-saving trick from my friend, Jennifer McGuire. I used a circle die around that sweet little house in order to die cut a positive and negative at the same time. So, instead of running this through my die cut machine 50 times, I only had to do it 25 times - thanks Jennifer! 😀

After the card fronts were embossed, all I had to do was adhere my die cut pieces and add a sentiment. I decided not to add embellishments in order to keep the mass producing to a minimum and I must say, I'm happy with the result.

I hope today's Mix it up Monday challenges you to create with products from various companies! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I hope you've been having a great weekend! Mine has been quiet but very nice. I had a chance to get in the craft room yesterday which was awesome. My mini-me and I made cards for a few hours, Fun Times!!!

So, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love teachers! And now that my daughter is school-aged I like to show love to her teacher every month. I'm a little behind this month, but I have my card ready!

I used an oldie but goodie die set from Spellbinders called Write On. It was their Large Die of the Month from August 2019 and it's a great one to have in your stash. I just love how intricate their dies are because it literally looks like you have a clipboard! Love that! I also used another oldie but goodie from Papertrey Ink called Great Teachers. It looks like this one may no longer be available, but it really has some great sentiments for teachers.

Well, I'm off to address the envelope and tuck something fun inside! I hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! Do you love stencils? I love stencils! They are a great way to create a quick but pretty background and they're so easy to use! I'm all about easy! Scrapbook.com has a ton of them and they are gorgeous! Just grab your favorite inks, your favorite blending tool and you're ready to get started!

I paired the Vintage Floral stencil with a cute mini stamp from Colorado Craft Company. The line of stamps illustrated by Anita Jeram are just ADORABLE!! I fussy cut that cute little mouse and ice cream cone and just popped him up right smack dab in the middle! This would be super cute to give to a sweet child in your life for their birthday.

I hope you're able to break out your stencils and get to blendin' today! It's so fun! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Welcome back to another installment of Mix it Up Monday's! In this series I'll be using products from various companies to come up with cohesive card designs. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I thought I'd bring you a sweet card filled with lots of hearts! Today, I'm using products from 5 different companies: Lawn Fawn, Simon Says Stamp, Scrapbook.com, Pink Fresh Studio and Tonic Studios.

Although this card doesn't say Happy Valentines' Day on the outside, you could fill the inside with additional things that you love about the person and then add the Valentine's Day sentiment. Who wouldn't love to see a list of wonderful things about themselves? 😀

I used the following products for this card:

I hope this card inspires you to mix and match the supplies you already have on hand. You can pick any heart stencil, add a stamp with text to the background and a simple die for your sentiment to finish it off.

I'm really enjoying this series because I want to continue to challenge myself to use products from as many different companies as I can! I hope you like it too!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! Okay, so before you ask, "aren't you a card maker?" The answer is absolutely YES! However, when I started on my crafting journey, like many of you I started out scrapbooking. I haven't done it in YEARS, however I was intrigued by the pocket scrapbooking that seems to be so popular these days. And at Scrapbook.com they have some really awesome 6x8 binders, page protectors and pocket cards to get you started.

This is definitely my favorite picture of my family in 2020. Not that we took very many, but this picture literally captured happiness! In a year that was (and still is) filled with so much sadness and grief we had a great day at a Miami Dolphins football game and took advantage of actually being out of the house! Paige absolutely LOVES football and we all had a great time!

I had fun putting this layout together and I really think I want to start doing more of this so I can  capture those every day moments that are so easy to take for granted. I hope this inspires you to start documenting life because as we've seen over the past year, life is way too short.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I'm back today to share more storage from the Craft Room Basics line at Scrapbook.com. Today I'm sharing the 4 Drawer Storage.

This storage is perfect for mini ink cubes! I love it because it looks beautiful on my desk and  everything is hidden away so nicely. I believe you can fit 32 mini ink cubes in one drawer so it's very spacious. Little by little, I'm getting organized! I hope that you've been having luck getting organized too.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I'm popping in today to share a new series that I'm calling Mix it Up Monday's. In this series I'll be using products from various companies to come up with cohesive card designs. I know that many stamp companies release everything you need to use for a certain theme or image, but sometimes it may be a little over our crafty budget. So, I love searching my crafty stash to help bring in the old with the new. Sometimes these posts will use a lot of different products, sometimes, not so much it totally depends on where the design takes me. But, I hope you'll find these posts to be helpful so you will be inspired to shop your stash as well.

Today, my main stamp image comes from Pink Fresh Studios and it's called Modern Layered Floral. It is absolutely beautiful!! I paired it with a stitched die from Avery Elle called Scalloped Mat and a thanks sentiment from one of my favorite stamp sets of all time, Sketched Flowers. I also used some inks from Gina K Designs and Pink Fresh Studio (wild dandelion, sweet corn, grass green and fresh pear).

My hubby asked me to make some thank you cards for his co-workers so I mass produced about 7 of these cards along with a sympathy card I unfortunately needed for a co-worker who recently lost her mom. This card is heavy on die cuts, but super easy to assemble. Once you have everything cut out, I needed 4 inks (2 yellow and 2 green) for 2-step stamping on the floral image, I added a little white gel pen for some added interest to the centers of the small flowers. I stamped the "thanks" sentiment with VersaMark ink, heat embossed and fussy cut it out. For the Sympathy card I used a sentiment from the Clean Line Everyday sentiment stamp set from Simon Says Stamp/CZ Design. I absolutely love how these turned out!

Oh, I can't forget to mention that I chose this color combo because it's the new Pantone color for 2021 - Illuminating (yellow) and Ultimate Gray. Love it!!!

Let me know your thoughts on this post and this series. Is this something you're interested in? Leave me a comment below. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I hope you've had a great weekend! Why do Monday's come around so quickly?! Well, today I'm back to share another storage option. This one is for your 6x6 paper pads. I don't know about you, but I have a ton of paper pads because I love me some patterned paper!! This 6x6 Storage is also part of the Craft Room Basics line at Scrapbook.com

I love the way this looks on my desk! Clean, fresh and functional! I totally plan on purchasing another so I can stack it on top of this one and organize all of my paper pads. And, as you can see, I also have a 6x8 paper pad stored in there and it looks just fine. Little by little, I'm getting things organized around here! I hope that you're having some success as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Friends! I hope you're having a great weekend! I don't know about you, but I need to get my crafty self in gear with organizing. My craft room looks a hot mess 90% of the time! Sad, but true! So, one goal for 2021 is to get more organized in my space. If I can just cut the amount of time it takes me to search for something in half, I would say mission accomplished! LOL!

I'm starting with this awesome Stadium Organizer from Scrapbook.com which is part of their Craft Room Basics Collection.

You can fit SO much in this organizer! I have A2 and 6x8 paper pads, stickers, dies, glue, stamps and more! I love it because everything is neatly placed and it's all right at my fingertips! I think this is a good start on my Mission Organization Journey! I hope that you find a little inspiration to get organized as well so we can go on this journey together! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol

Hello Friends! I had some time to play in my craft room today and I could not be happier! I spent some time organizing as well as making cards. I am so excited about this card because I've had it on my to-do list for quite some time. I pulled out an exclusive stencil and die from Scrapbook.com and I don't know if you've seen the Magic Iris from Lawn Fawn in action, but this camera is an add-on to that amazing interactive die. I stenciled the camera and cut out all of the pieces to the camera and put it together. I also used an add-on die from Lawn Fawn called Let's Toast in order to set up the interactive part of the card.

I used that sweet love die to finish up the card and Oh my goodness, I must make more of these!!! This card is going to my mom and I know she will be tickled to get Paige's school picture this way! Well, it's dinner time in these parts, so I need to set the table for whatever yumminess my hubby picked up on his way home!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol
