Miss You card

March 18, 2021

Hello Friends! Happy Friday-Eve!! We're almost there my friends! Today, I'm sharing a Miss You card that I was asked to make for the mom of one of my daughter's classmates. All I can say is Instagram is a powerful tool! She reached out to me via IG to say she loves my cards and requested a Miss You card for her hubby that will be traveling on business soon. I love when unexpected requests like this come in because it really just makes my heart feel good.

I don't know about you, but I always have a tough time making masculine cards! Well, I recently purchased the Typewriter Fancy Die from Hero Arts and I knew it would be perfect for this card.

You all know I'm a sucker for a typewriter (hence the name Typed in Pink) and this die is fabulous. It actually embosses the keys and the space bar so they are raised from the rest of the typewriter which makes it a little easier to color. I used my Tombow dual brush marker to color the typewriter black and I did not use any water, just the marker. I also pulled out a couple of older stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp, Miss You Missy for the sentiment and You Are for the background. The background is a little hard to see, but I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder onto the Basic Stripes patterned paper from The Stamp Market. I also added a little shading onto the background with Lucky Clover distress oxide ink. I am just smitten with this card! I think it's kinda masculine, right?!

I hope you liked today's card, thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Carol
